CINOA was founded in Amsterdam in 1935 and is currently situated in Brussels. Its membership consists of national Federations and Associations which are legally incorporated and which represent the Art & Antiques trade of the various affiliated countries. |

If there is a conflict with a merchant the relevant Association will intervene on behalf of the client and has the power to apply sanctions against the merchant |

The dealer is not only a merchant but is also a consultant who is required to respect the laws of his Association. He serves as a cultural mission by distributing objets d'art which he identifies through experience. The relation with his clientèle are based on confidence and mutual trust. He is obliged to give his clients correct information concerning the date, the artist, (article) and state of preservation of the objects he sells. |
